Northdocks and the University Hospital of Cologne are revolutionizing preparation for emergencies in the shock room. Using virtual reality (VR), doctors and nursing staff are immersed in a realistic virtual shock room environment in which they can train to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
The trainees can make mistakes in a safe environment, learn from them and thus optimize their communication skills and teamwork. Simulated stress situations ensure that they react calmly and with focus in real emergencies. Northdocks and the University Hospital of Cologne are thus increasing patient safety and improving the quality of emergency care.
Several people can complete the training as a team and interact with each other - in the local network or online
Communication between trainees via voice chat
Optional: Use of computer-controlled characters that can perform actions on command
Storage of all activities in the log for later evaluation of the training and for feedback discussions
Dynamic physiological simulation of different patients and clinical pictures
